I was both pleased and proud of the football club that we could make a small donation, and I hope to continue the relationship with them to make regular donations in the future.

Rangers made their first, and hopefully, the beginning of many donations to the Wetherby & District Foodbank today.
Representing the club was Chairman Rich Strike and Media Officer Pete Arnett, who were both warmly greeted by Chair of Trustees for the Foodbank, Neil Ripley and John, who is one of the volunteers who keep this superb service running.
The Wetherby and District Foodbank does a tremendous job in helping families and individuals in crisis and works via a voucher system dispensed by agencies such as Citizens Advice, children’s centres and health visitors. Since their opening in 2014, they have handed out a staggering 17,500 packs within our district alone, which is viewed by many as an affluent area!
The Foodbank desperately requires other items as well as food, and this is an area that we would like to target as a club. We are asking if you could provide one or some of the following:
Handwash
Soap
Wipes (toilet and hand)
Shampoo
Tampons or other sanitary products
Toilet rolls?
Donations to the Foodbank fall after Christmas, but we would still like to help. As a club, we will soon be receiving one of the Foodbank baskets that you may have seen in other places around Wetherby, and every home match you will be able to put your donations straight into the basket.
Speaking about today, Rich commented "It was lovely to meet Neil and John today, and see what the team of volunteers do to help the local community. I was both pleased and proud of the football club that we could make a small donation, and I hope to continue the relationship with them to make regular donations in the future.
You never know what the future holds, however, it is a lovely thought that we belong in a community that gives generously to the Foodbank so that other families, for whatever reason or personal circumstances, can be provided with food and household essentials.
Please give generously, even if it’s one extra item. It doesn’t have to be food, household products and essentials are in demand as well. You never know the day that you may have to use this fantastic and generous facility, so please donate what you can."

We would like to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity so far. Your donations have been brilliant.
