It’s a journey to Castleford this afternoon as we take on high flying Glasshoughton Rock at Townville Recreational Sports Club.
The match has a 2 pm kick-off, but please keep an eye on this website and our Social Media feeds for game status updates, due to the bad weather we have had recently.
Our Opponents.
Glasshoughton have wasted little time in climbing up the table following their promotion last season. At present, they have amassed 24 points from a possible 36 and sit one place above us due to a superior goal difference.
On home soil, they have played seven games, winning three, drawing twice and losing twice. They have scored 17 times (averaging 2.4 goals per home game) and conceded 16 (averaging 2.2 goals per home game).
The FA Stats show that John Adey and Robert Rice are the highest scorers so far for Glasshoughton Rock, having scored 11 and 10 goals respectively.
Head To Head.
This will be the first time that the two teams have met.
Team News For Rangers.
With several players, including Ash Tatler, returning from injury and other commitments, Manager Dan Marshall will hope to name a strong squad for this game.
The Man In The Middle.
The referee for this match will be Mr Steve Lynch. He has already been in charge of four matches and will also be in charge for our upcoming League Cup match against Whitkirk Wanderers.
In the previous four matches, according to the FA stats page, Mr Lynch has been very lenient, issuing no cards of any colour or sending any players to the sin-bin.
Following The Match.
Our media team will be at the game, so if you can't attend, please log onto our twitter feed for game updates.
If you would like to watch the game, the address for Glasshoughton Rock is Townville Recreational Sports Club, Poplar Avenue, Castleford, WF10 3QF.
We will be presenting our Bennett & Fountain Man Of The Match award to the winning Rangers player, so please stay and give the lucky recipient your congratulations.
