Kirk Deighton Rangers v Aberford Albion Match Preview.

This Saturday we welcome Aberford Albion to Barr Field as we look to continue our promotion push in the West Yorkshire League One.

The match has a 2 pm kick-off time, and the weather looks to be a mixture of sunny spells and some cloud.

The Opposition.

Aberford Albion is well known in local football to be a difficult team to beat at the best of times. They have a strong squad that is more than capable of beating teams, and as such, we will have to be at our best to get anything from this contest.

Coming into this game, they lie in 10th place in the league, which has come as a surprise to many, who thought that they would be a lot higher up. However, with just ten points separating them from second place, there is still plenty of time for them to move up the table.

Their away form does seem to be the weak link at the moment with three wins and a draw being cancelled out by five defeats. Their last away match however ended in a strong 3-0 win over Kippax FC.

Aberford has always been a team that score goals, and on the road in the league, they have scored 21 which averages as 2.3 goals scored per away game. They have conceded slightly more with 29 hitting the back of their net, which averages 3.2 goals conceded per away game.

A win for us could take us into second place, but a defeat could push us down into fifth place and see Aberford close down Rawdon Old Boys.

Head To Head.

This is the second meeting between the two teams this season. Our encounter at Bunkers Hill turned into a seven-goal epic with strikes from Joe Turley, Josh Bhandal, Danny Grannon and Ashley Tatler securing us the win.

Overall, we have met three times with one win for Aberford and two for us.

Team News For Rangers.

Manager Dan Marshall will be hoping to reintroduce a few familiar faces back into the squad for this game. Following his suspension, Joe Barden is now available, and the pair of Josh Bhandal and Jonty Smith will be assessed following their injuries before naming the final team.

It was also good to see Harvey Ribbons return to the pitch last week, and the youngster may be included in this match in some capacity as well.

The Man In The Middle.

Mr Juston Sales is the referee for this game, which is his tenth match in charge this season.

So far, according to the FA website, he has sent one player to the Sin-Bin, cautioned four and dismissed two from the field of play.
