Kirk Deighton Rangers v Boroughbridge AFC Match Preview.

It's a case of third time lucky in the cups for Rangers as we welcome Boroughbridge AFC to Barr Field for this third round West Riding County Challenge Cup match.

Kick-off is at 2 pm, and the weather is forecast to be dry with some light cloud.

This game will also see the team play in their new strip, which has been kindly sponsored by our friends at Hunters. They have also been very generous in sponsoring this match as well.

Our Opponents.

Boroughbridge achieved promotion into the Premier Division at the end of last season, and sit in eleventh place in the table so far.

League wise, on their travels, they have struggled a little, registering one win and five defeats. They have scored seven times (averaging 1.2 goals scored per away game) and conceding 12 (averaging 2.0 goals conceded per away game)

In the second round of the competition (like us, they received a bye in the first round), they came from 3-2 down to defeat Hebden Royd RS 6-3.

Looking at the FA Stats for the Premier Division, two Boroughbridge players are leading their team's goalscoring charts with Phil Milson and Chris Simpson tying at present with ten goals each.

Head To Head.

The database shows a total of ten meetings involving the two teams, but this is incomplete, and it is believed that there are quite a few more matches unaccounted for at present.

Out of the ten games, Rangers haven't managed too well picking up one victory whilst Boroughbridge has five. The encounters do seem to produce goals as we have scored 21 and Boroughbridge have managed 31!

Team News For Rangers.

Hopefully, several players have managed to shake off the virus that hit the squad hard last week. Added to this was the frustration of watching Charlie Yates and Josh Bhandal limping off the pitch against Whitkirk Wanderers.

With this in mind, the management trio will wait until the final moment before naming their team.

The Man In The Middle.

The referee for this match is Mr Colin Woods. This will be his sixth match in charge this season, and he has already taken charge of one of our matches when we beat Aberford Albion 4-3 at Bunkers Hill.

During his six matches, Mr Woods has sin-binned one player and cautioned another thirteen.

As with any official, opposition team and fans who visit us, we hope that Mr Woods has a pleasant and hassle-free time whilst with us.

Following The Match.

Our media team will be at the match, so if you can't make it but would like to keep up-to-date with the score, please log onto our Twitter feed.

We will be open an hour before the match starts. Our clubhouse will be ready to serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks should you want one before kick-off.

If you have any spare change that you would like to donate, we will have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound from these boxes as well.

We are also available to accept any donations that you would like to make to the Wetherby and District Foodbank. Please see any of the club officials who will take your generous donation.

To end, we will be presenting our Bennett & Fountain Man Of The Match award to the winning Kirk Deighton Rangers player. Please stay and give the lucky recipient your congratulations.
