We welcome title chasing Boroughbridge AFC to Barr Field in what is sure to be another outstanding match between two teams, who have faced each other many times over the years.
Kick-off is 2:30pm and it should be a decent day weather wise for football, so grab yourself a drink and enjoy the afternoon!
Following our 2-0 win over Kippax, we find ourselves in the lofty position of occupying the final promotion place going into this game, but with several more matches played than our nearest rivals, we are well aware that we may be ousted from this position, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a very big say in where the title ends up.
Our visitors have had an excellent season to say the least, and it’s been an impressive battle between them, Hall Green United and Aberford Albion for the title spot and one, in all reality, that will probably go down to the final game of the season!
On their travels, Boroughbridge have an impressive record of nine wins, one draw and two wins. They have scored 38 goals, which is the third best away record in the division, and conceded 16, which is the best away record in the division! In a bit of symmetry to the season, we met Boroughbridge in the second game of the campaign and came away with a 2-0 defeat! Hopefully we can get a slice of revenge and even up the scores!
Taking charge of this game is Mr. Jason Payne. Mr Payne has taken charge of seventeen games with another two as assistant. In these games, he has shown the yellow card ten times and has yet to dismiss anyone. We would like to wish Mr Payne a pleasant time whilst he is with us at Barr Field.
As ever, we would also like to extend a warm welcome to our visiting team, officials and supporters. The gates to the ground will be open from approximately 12:30pm and you are more than welcome to come and join us for a drink in our clubhouse. We will be serving our matchday special for just £2.50 per bottle, as well as a wide choice of both alcoholic and soft drinks for you to buy before, at half-time and after the game.
Also, if you have any spare pennies and would like to donate them to a great cause, we will also have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound (or two!) from these boxes as well.
