Wednesday night action pits us against Premier League side Knaresborough Town Reserves in the quarter final of the Whitworth Cup. The match is to be played under the floodlights at Manse Lane and has a 7:30pm kick-off. Weather wise, it is forecast to be cold, but hopefully dry!
This is a competition that Dan Marshall and his coaching have targeted as being the one that they would like to win this season, but Knaresborough will present a massive challenge in our quest to do just that.
By their own high standards, our hosts are not having a great season at present and lie second from bottom in the West Yorkshire Premier Division. They have amassed two wins (just one at home), one draw and eight defeats, which gives them a total of seven points from a possible 33. Goals wise, they have scored 18, whilst conceding 35. A quick check of the FA stats shows that the pairing of Ben Dickins and Steve Walker are the players to watch, as they have scored six goals each so far.
In previous rounds of this competition, whilst we were beating Ripon City 4-1, they easily despatched Harlow Hill 6-0 on home soil to move into this tie.
It does have all the signs of being a classic cup game, so please come and support us. With the added ambience of being an evening game, it should be a really good time.
The address that you will need, should you wish to travel over to Knaresborough is Manse Lane, Knaresborough, HG5 8LF.
Unfortunately, due to work commitments, there will be no media from this game, we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience that this may cause.
