Following two impressive wins, Rangers take on Premier Division side Headingley AFC in what will be a test of their credentials on Wednesday night at Barr Field (KO 7 pm)

Unfortunately, to comply with current FA and Government guidelines, there are no spectators allowed to watch this match.

Headingley AFC.

This is our visitor’s first pre-season match, although they did have an inter-club competition last week at Fleet Lane.

Always a difficult side to play against, Headingley finished in 8th position when football was halted.

The last time we met was on the 13th of July in another pre-season match which ended in a 1-1 draw. Roman Neal was on target that night as Rangers came from behind to frustrate their higher league opposition.

Team News.

With several players coming back into the squad for the 2-1 win over Rawdon Old Boys, the management will have a few decisions to make regarding who makes the final cut. However, as manager Dan Marshall commented: “It’s a headache we would rather have than having to search for players!”

One To Watch.

The stats for last season showed that while Headingley didn’t have an outright goalscorer, they were quite capable of chipping in with strikes from all over the pitch. Richard Booth led the way with seven goals, but closely followed by Jamie Bywater and Oliver Carter with six each.
