Overthorpe Sports Club v Kirk Deighton Rangers Match Preview.

ree

It’s a break away from the League campaign as Dan Marshall takes his squad over to Dewsbury to face Overthorpe Sports Club in the West Yorkshire League Cup.

The match has a 2pm kick-off time and the weather looks fairly decent at the moment, with light cloud and a gentle breeze forecast.

The Opposition.

At present, Overthorpe sit top of the West Yorkshire Division Two with 19 points from a possible 27. They have been pretty impressive at home, winning all five of their matches so far, scoring 17 (avg. 3.4 goals per home game) and conceding only 3 (avg. 0.6 goals per home game). During this spell, they have chalked up some impressive results including a 5-2 win against Howden Clough and more recently, a hard fought 2-1 victory over Ripon City.

However, as we all know all too well, league form means little in the cup, and we will have to play at our best to avoid falling at the first hurdle to a very determined opposition.

Head to Head.

The database shows that this may well be the first meeting between the clubs.

Team News For Rangers.

Rangers welcomed Joe Wilks back into the side last week following his suspension, and with several players returning from injury, Manager Dan Marshall Will hope to have a good squad to pick from. There may well be a few changes from the team that beat Shelley 1-0 last weekend as the gaffer looks to give game time to players.

One player who won’t be playing is Ash Tatler. The striker sits out his final game of suspension, following his dismissal against Pool AFC.

The Man In The Middle.

The referee for this game will be Mr Brian Hamilton. This will be Mr Hamilton’s first game in charge, although he has run the line in one other match this season.

Following The Match.

The address for this game, should you wish to come and watch is Ings Lane, Thornhill, Dewsbury, WF12 0PG
