Preview - Carlton Athletic

The Premier League champions are the visitors on Saturday.

Tomorrow sees a superb game of football about to take place (KO 2:30pm) as we welcome current West Yorkshire Premier League champions Carlton Athletic to Barr Field.

Looking at the forecast, the match should be played under a blanket of light cloud, hopefully with some sunshine as well!

Since their return to the top flight in 2016, to say that Carlton have been rather dominant would be an understatement! Within three seasons, they have secured two Premier League titles and a runners up spot. Last season they also racked up 100 goals as they won the title by three points over Leeds City.

Last season, Carlton notched up an impressive 36 points out of 45 on the road and their goals total was also impressive having scored 45 (avg. 3.o goals per game) but, it was their defence that proved to be their main asset, conceding just 18 goals (avg. 1.3 goals per game).

This is sure to be another superb test for Manager Dan Marshall’s men and one that the lads will certainly be up for. Rangers will be looking to make it a four-game unbeaten streak, but will certainly face tough competition!
