After months of change at the club, Kirk Deighton Rangers get ready to start their season tomorrow as they face Gomersal & Cleckheaton in the opening fixture of the Premier League.

The game, at Gomersal's East Bierley Recreation Ground, has a 2:30 pm kick-off time. Looking at the MET weather app, it's another sunny day with temperatures hitting 28 degrees C.

Our Opponents.

Gomersall & Cleckheaton will present a stiff test to Rangers. Both skilful and physical, they are adept at causing trouble all over the pitch with their play and power.

Last season, they finished in 12th place, just one space below us, equal on points but with a worse goal difference. Both our matches went in our favour with a 3-1 at Barr Field and a 3-0 at East Bierley.

During their pre-season, Gomersall have drawn 3-3 with Middleton FC, beaten Springhead AFC and Overthorpe Sports 3-1 and 2-1 respectively, and lost to Lower Hopton.

Squad News.

At the time of writing, Manager Kris Macdonald is taking a 16-man squad to Gomersall. There could be a handful of debuts as Deighton's new-look squad looks to try and get all three points and get the season off to a good start.
