We welcome West Yorkshire Premier Division side Headingley AFC to Barr Field this Thursday, in what Manager Dan Marshall believes should be a very exciting clash between the two teams!
The game is set to kick-off at 7pm and looking at the weather forecast, it should be a mixture of light cloud with sunny intervals!
Our visitors come off the back of a disappointing season for their standards in which they finished in 13th place, just outside the relegation zone by four points. Before that, they had enjoyed a top six finish following their promotion into the top flight. One thing that is consistent however, are the goals of Ashley Austin, whose 20 and 21 league goals have seen him comfortably finish in the leading five of the top league goalscorers.
As mentioned before, Headingley didn’t have the best of seasons last time round and it seems that their away form was the cause of that, as they managed to pick up just nine points from a possible forty-five. Goals wise, they scored 22 away from their Weetwood Playing Fields base (avg. 1.4 goals per game), whilst conceding 35 (avg. 2.3 goals per game)
Commenting on his own squad, Manager Dan Marshall said, “I am hoping that it should be a good game, we have a strong squad of around 16 even with some missing as well!”
Please come down and give the lads your support. The club house will be open and serving an impressive range of beverages, both alcoholic and soft for your enjoyment. If you are traveling over from Headingley, then we look forward to seeing you and offer you a warm welcome.
