It’s back to it again this Tuesday as we welcome York Premier Division side Tadcaster Magnets to Barr Field. Kick-off for this game is 7pm and a look at the weather forecast shows that we should be serenaded by light cloud and sunny intervals.
Rangers enjoyed a blistering second half against West Yorkshire League champions Carlton Athletic on Saturday and, despite losing 3-2, Manager Dan Marshall will be hoping that his side take that form into this game.
We are no strangers to playing Tadcaster and will be aware of the threat that they pose all over the pitch. Last season, our visitors finished in 9th position (out of 15) with a total of 36 points from a possible 84. They didn’t have the best time in front of goal with the second lowest total (45 – avg. 1.6 goals per game) of the league scored. However, they did have the 9th best defence in the league with just 66 conceded (avg 2.4 goals per game).
Our club house will be open from 6pm and will be ready to serve a good range of drinks (both alcoholic and soft), so come and support the Rangers (or the Magnets) or just local football. The weather should be good and so should the football! We hope that Tadcaster Magnets and their fans have a pleasant trip over to us and they will be sure of a warm welcome.
