Rangers Reserves will be looking to keep their momentum going this Saturday (KO 2:30 pm) when they take on Wyke Wanderers Reserves at Barr Field.
Three wins from three games have seen Kris Macdonald's team climb to the top of the league, but Wyke will be looking to continue their climb up the table at our expense.
The Opposition.
Wyke picked up their first points last weekend with a 2-1 win over Rothwell Reserves to lift themselves to 9th in the table. Previously, they had lost their two opening matches 3-0 to Leeds Modernians and Brighouse Sports FC Reserves.
A win for Wyke could see them (other results falling favourably) move into 4th place.
Scoring wise, they have two players leading the way in Ashley Andrews and Leon Enright, who have one goal each.
Past Meetings.
We have to go back to the 1st of September 2018 to find the last time the two teams officially met at Barr Field. Goals from Vito D'Avanzo (2), Chris Plews and John Large helped Rangers win 4-1.
The Referee.
Mr Majid Ali is in charge of this game, and we hope that he has a pleasant time at Barr Field. This match will be his first game as a referee since football restarted.
Team News.
Most of the team came through the 2-0 win over Overthorpe Sports Club Reserves without too many issues, and as a result, Manager Kris Macdonald will hope to keep the team as settled as possible. However, he will be looking at several options just in case.
