Its old acquaintances renewed tomorrow as we travel over to Hanson Field to take on former Harrogate & District rivals Rawdon Boys.
The game has a scheduled kick-off time of 2:30 pm, but with the heavy rain forecast to fall for tonight and most of tomorrow, please keep an eye on this website or our social media feeds for game status updates!
The Opposition.
Our games with Rawdon have always been tough ones and we expect tomorrow to be no different. A highly skilful team who are always difficult opponents to beat, Rawdon sit two places and six points behind us.
On their own turf, they are yet to taste defeat this season with the only points dropped from four games coming against Campion courtesy of a 4-4 draw!
Goals wise, they have been pretty prolific hitting 18 to date (avg. 4.5 scored per home game) and conceding 8 (avg. 2.0 goals conceded per home game).
Looking at the FA stats for our league, it looks like our backline will have to keep an eye on Craig Nicholls who has scored 7 at present.
Head To Head.
Our database shows at least ten meetings between the two sides, although there are probably plenty more as it isn’t complete at present. However, the results are close as we have won four of them, Rawdon five and one game ended in a 1-1 draw in 2013!
The last meeting on Rawdon’s ground took place on the 24th October 2015 in the Harrogate & District Premier League and it was a 2-0 win for the hosts!
Team News For Rangers.
Manager Dan Marshall is hoping to have a few more bodies available for this game, but may well stick with roughly the same line-up that beat Oxenhope Recreation last weekend.
Joe Straker and Josh Buckley still remain on the injury list, and Marshall will be without Andy Maxted as he begins his three-match suspension for his dismissal against Rothwell FC Reserves.
The Woman In The Middle.
Taking charge of this game will be Ms Christine Forsythe. This will be Ms Forsythe’s second game in charge, although she has been an Assistant Referee four other times as well. During her last matche as Referee, she issued no cards and sent no players to the sin-bin, let’s hope tomorrow’s game keeps that record intact!
Following The Match.
Mother Nature willing, our Media team should be present for this game, so if you can’t make it, please log onto our Twitter feed for updates on the score and action!
Should you wish to come and watch the match, the address you will need is Hanson Field, Billing View, Rawdon, Leeds LS19 6PR
To end the afternoon, we will be presenting our Kirk Deighton Rangers Bennett & Fountain Man Of The Match award to the wining player, so please stay and give the lucky recipient your congratulations.
