After a couple of weeks away from the football scene, our first-team head over to West Yorkshire on Saturday to play G&C Hartshead.

Kick-off is 2:30 pm, and a look at the MET Weather app shows a light cloud, and dry weather will accompany the game.

Spectators are welcome to come and watch this game but follow any Covid-19 guidelines that our hosts have in place, and please follow social distancing rules as well.

G&C Hartshead.

Most people will recognise the name Hartshead AFC as one of the more difficult opponents to face in the West Yorkshire divisions. However, the beginning of this season saw them, along with Hunsworth FC join forces with Gomersal & Cleckheaton AFC to form a new open age section.

A difficult start to the season has seen just one game take place for our hosts, and it ended in a 5-1 defeat against Rawdon Old Boys.

With last season's results not officially standing, we last met Hartshead on the 2nd March 2019 when goals from Will Bates and Rob Holliday secured a 2-1 win. We also picked up a win in the away match, this time Bates netting two, and Holiday with the other in a 3-1 win.

One to Watch.

With just one game played so far, it's hard to draw any conclusions. Tom Smith has scored their only goal so far, so we will have to be alert to all the dangers that they pose as a team.

Team News.

We will be without the services of Joe Barden for this game as he serves a one-match suspension following his dismissal against Aberford Albion.

The Referee.

Mr Jason Smith is in charge of this match, and this will be his third time as a referee this season. In his other games, he has cautioned five players and sent-off one.
