One of our continuing goals at Kirk Deighton Rangers AFC is to try and become more active within our community. This is a sentiment that is shared by Chairman Rich Strike.
As such, we are pleased to announce that we would like to help Wetherby & District Food Bank by becoming a collection point for anyone wishing to donate certain items of food.
As has been highlighted in the national press, the need for individuals and families to use food banks has grown at an alarming rate. The work that Food Banks, such as Wetherby and many others around the UK do, is vital in making sure that people have access to food should they need it.
Wetherby & District Food Bank is urgently looking for donations of the following:
Tinned Meat
Tinned Fish
Tinned Meat Pies
Rice
Biscuits
Tinned Sponge Puddings
Tinned Custard
Crisps & Snacks
Jam
Toilet Rolls
Hand wash
If you are able to buy an extra item on the above list and wish to drop it off at the club, we will be open to receive your kind donations during our home games. We will be advertising these games on our Social Media feeds as well as our match previews on this website, so please keep an eye out on them.
This is an initiative that we aim to run all throughout the season, not just over the winter months. As soon as we have enough items, we will take them to the Wetherby & District Foodbank Warehouse at Thorp Arch Trading Estate.
Thank you for any donations and for your kindness.
