Our Veterans take to the pitch on Sunday looking to build on an impressive opening 5-1 win over York Corinthians a couple of weeks ago. However, they face tough opposition in the shape of Otley Town Veterans.
The game has a 2 pm kick-off time, and the weather isn’t looking too clever at the moment with light cloud and drizzle forecast.
The Opposition.
Otley‘s opening game didn’t quite go the way that they had hoped as they came across a very strong Harrogate Over 50’s side who beat them 3-1. However, as we know from previous matches against Otley, they are extremely good at bouncing back following a defeat, so we will have to make sure that we don’t give them time and space to do so!
Head To Head.
At present, it’s honours even as both Rangers and Otley can boost one victory each. At home last season, we ran out 2-0 winners (Dan Brearton with a brace), whilst away, another goal by Dan wasn’t enough to stop us losing 2-1.
Team News For Rangers.
Player/Manager Richard Strike will be hoping to have a decent sized squad available to him, however he will be without the services of both Brearton and John-Paul Williams for this game due to previous commitments.
Following The Game.
Our Media team are hoping to be present for this game, but as with all Rangers matches, if they can’t be, the result will be made known as soon as possible.
The gates should be open an hour before for the general public and our club house will be ready to serve you a great range of drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), so please come in and say hello and enjoy yourself before the match starts. We will be featuring our match day special drink, which you can purchase at a great price.
Also, if you have any spare pennies and would like to donate them to a great cause, we will also have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound (or two!) from these boxes as well.
