KDRAFC Media caught up with Manager Dan Marshall following the 0-0 draw against Otley Town. These were his thoughts about the game.
On The Performance.
"A much better performance, but first and foremost, the application was much better than it was against Wyke, and that is what we wanted to give us a foundation. I felt that we defended very well, and Jonty pulled off three or four really good saves, which gave us something to build on."
"We still need some more minutes in the tank, and there is still some rustiness there, but there will be after such a long lay-off."
"During the first half, I thought we were a little cheap in the way that we gave the ball away, but in the second half, I thought we created the better chances, especially in the last twenty minutes."
"All in all, a draw was probably a fair result, especially with the application that both teams put in."
On Deighton's Passing Game.
"It was certainly better, although, in the first half, we were a little wasteful in the final third. It definitely improved during the second half, and I think that this had something to do with the fact we had changed a few things around, such as positions and played the players in more advanced positions that they haven't played in for a while."
The Wetherby Athletic Match Coming Too Soon?
"To be honest, the recent matches against Wetherby haven't been that great, so we are probably due a good game, hopefully, it will be, but we will have to wait and see."
"We have to play each other sometime, so now is as good as ever. Both teams will probably still be rusty, but it will be good to see them, and we are looking forward to it."
