Making it a hat-trick of matches involving our sides, we welcome Knaresborough Celtic Veterans to Barr Field for this Harrogate & District Vets 11 a side League Championship match on Sunday. The game has a 2pm kick-off time and looking at the weather forecast, it could be an afternoon punctured by light rain showers!
Last week’s return to action, after a few false starts, didn’t go quite to plan as Kirkby Malzeard Veterans ran out 5-0 winners to leave us in the bottom two of the league, however Player-Manager Rich Strike will be looking for his team to provide an instant response to that game and start to climb the table!
Our opponents have had a few weeks off playing, so will hopefully be suffering a bit of rustiness, however staying that, they still pose a significant challenge and will be difficult to beat. The last time that they kicked a ball was on the 7th October when they lost 5-2 to league leaders Thirsk Veterans. At present, they reside in second place having gained six points from a possible nine. Away from home, they have played just the once, which was the Thirsk game.
The gates will be open from around 12:30 for this game and everyone is welcome! Our clubhouse will be serving its usual great choice of beverages (both alcoholic and soft), so come on down and support local football.
