Rangers second team take to the pitch hoping to continue their great goal-scoring form against Pool AFC Reserves at Arthington Lane on Saturday (KO 2:30 pm).
Our media team will be at this match, so if you can't attend, tune into our Twitter feed to be kept up-to-date with this and other games involving our teams.
The Opposition.
Our hosts have struggled a little during this mini-league and find themselves second from bottom with a total of four points. They picked up their first win last weekend when they beat Overthorpe Sports Club Reserves 3-2, and this will give them confidence going into this game. Their other point came from a creditable 3-3 draw against Rothwell Juniors Reserves.
Pool have scored 13 times this season, making them the divisions joint seventh highest scorers. They have, however, conceded the most amount with 30 goals.
It appears that William Shakeshaft-Gee is their highest goalscorer at present with thee goals. However, Enzo Allanson and Jacob Holberry have also featured amongst the goals and will need watching by our defence.
Previous Meetings.
We know that Covid wiped out the results last season, so looking back at 2018/19, we met Pool twice and managed to gain two wins over them. In this corresponding fixture, goals from Craig Hall, John Large, Sam Straker, Rob Holliday and Brad Spencer saw us run out 5-0 winners.
The Referee.
Mr Majid Ali is the referee for this match. This game will be his fourth in charge this season, and stats appear to show that he is a very lenient referee with no yellow or red cards brandished so far.
Team News.
Manager Kris Macdonald will be hoping to welcome back Rich Jenner and Brad Spencer, who missed out during the 6-0 win against East End Park Reserves.
