The games keep coming thick and fast for our Reserves as they travel to Leeds to take on Rothwell Reserves tonight (kick-off 6:30 pm).
With four successive victories under their belts, our Reserves will enter this match with a lot of confidence but will have to be wary of a Rothwell side who are more than capable of springing a surprise on any team.
The Opposition.
Rothwell occupy 10th place in the league, but they have played one game less than a few other teams in the division. They have one point on board after a 3-3 draw against Pool AFC. Their other two matches have ended in defeats against Wetherby Athletic and Wyke Wanderers.
The stats on the FA Full-Time website show that George Walker is their leading goalscorer so far with two strikes.
Past Meetings.
The last time that the two teams officially met was on the 27th of October 2018. It was certainly an exciting game with six goals shared. Our scorers were Jake Little, Phil Turner and Vito D'Avanzo.
Previous to the 3-3 draw, we met on the opening day of the 18/19 season at Rothwell and came away with a 3-1 win. Goals this time came from Jake Little (2) and Jack Abbott.
The Referee.
Ms Melissa Cairns is tonight's referee in her first match in charge since the restart of football. She has also appeared as an assistant referee twice.
Team News.
As is the norm with weekday matches, Manager Kris Macdonald will have to shuffle his pack around due to the unavailability of some players.
Thankfully, the manager has no suspension issues to worry about, but Rothwell will be without the services of Chris Nock and George Walker, according to the FA website.
