PREVIEW: Thirsk Veterans

Our Veterans take to the Barr Field pitch on Sunday to take on Thirsk Falcons. Kick-off is 2 pm, but as per current Government guidelines, there are no spectators allowed.

With the original league competition suspended. The Vets are now competing in a Champions League tournament.

The Opposition.

Both teams know each other well, having met multiple times over the past few seasons. The Falcons are a hard team to break down, and we will need to play well to secure the three points, but this is the kind of challenge that our Veterans like.

Past Meetings.

With the more recent games voided due to Covid-19, we have to go back to the 2018/19 season for the last meeting. Both games ended in 3-2 wins to Thirsk, with our goalscorers being Marcus Stapleton (2), Jonathan Wilson and an own goal.

Team News.

Joint Managers Rob Stabler and Steve Smith are looking at their options but hope to name a strong squad for this game.
