After almost five months, we can release the news that our Veterans side will be returning to action on the 11th of April when they welcome Thirsk Falcons to Barr Field (KO 1 pm).
Football Mundial, who host the Harrogate & District 11-a-side Veterans league, which our Veterans play in, have decided to null and void the 2020/2021 league campaign and instead play a Champions League format with divisions of five teams and the winners progressing into a knockout format.
Rangers have drawn against local rivals Wetherby Athletic, Seacroft WMC, Amaranth Manstonians, Sherburn White Rose and Thirsk Falcons. For a list of fixtures, please click here to open the Veterans Fixture Page.
At present, the match against Thirsk will be behind closed doors to comply with the Government's lockdown/social distancing rules. However, we aim to bring you the result as quickly as possible following the game. We will welcome you all back safely as soon as we can!
Commenting about this to KDRAFC TV, joint manager Rob Stabler said,
"At last the restrictions have been lifted, and the Vets can get back to playing football again. Sadly the league is not in the usual format, and we revert to a cup format to finish. Rangers are in a tough league alongside some strong teams, but that won't deter us, and with the squad that we have, I have no doubts we will push any team."
