It's a local derby (geographically speaking) for our second team this Saturday as they welcome Aberford Albion to Barr Field for a must-win game for both sides!

It's a 2:30 pm kick-off time, and at this moment, the MET weather app says we should have sunny intervals and temperatures of between 10-12 degrees Celsius serenading us!

The Opposition.

Like us, Albion's Reserves are struggling in the lower half of the table. With the same amount of points as us (14), they are one place above us in the league (11th) due to having a better goal difference (-20 to our -30). They have recorded four wins, two draws and nine defeats. They come into this game off the back of a heavy 8-1 loss against Huddersfield Amateur 2nds.

Goals wise, they have scored 41 times (averaging 2.7 goals per game) and have conceded 61 times (averaging 4.1 goals per game).

Their leading goal scorer is Callum Scott, who has scored an impressive 23 goals up to this point.

Past Meetings.

This encounter will be the third time we have met this season, with games played in the league and West Yorkshire Trophy. Both these matches ended 4-3 to us, and although we don't believe lightning will strike for the third time with the scoreline, hopefully, we will be able to make it a triple outcome in wins!

Squad News.

With a couple of improved performances behind them recently, Manager Kris Macdonald wants to pick roughly the same squad. However, with several players unavailable, it will be another shuffle to his selection. With Mike Tasker coming off injured during the first half against Field AFC Reserves last week, this match may be too soon for him to return to action.

Mr John Murray is the referee for this game. This match will be his 23rd in charge this season! We hope that he has a pleasant time at Barr Field.
