It promises to be an excellent Saturday afternoon of football at Barr Field as Rangers welcome Harrogate Railway Athletic Reserves for the semi-final of the Whitworth Cup.
The kick-off time is 2 pm, and the weather, according to MET, is set to be a sunny afternoon with decent temperatures!
This match is kindly sponsored by Hunters (Wetherby Branch) and Bar Three.
There will be a presentation by FA Council member Barry Chaplin to Mr Martyn Metcalfe for 50 years of service to the FA. Mr Norman Hood was also set to receive one but is unwell and unable to attend. All at Kirk Deighton Rangers AFC hope that Mr Hood gets better soon.
Our Opponents.
Harrogate Railway Athletic Reserves play in the West Yorkshire League Division 2. They are currently in 5th position with 29 points from a possible 48 and have won 9 of their games, drawn 2 and lost 5.
They come into this match on the back of two 3-2 wins, one over Huddersfield LH AFC First and, more recently, Overthorpe Sports Club.
Goals wise, they are their division's second-highest scorers with 45 (averaging 2.8 goals per game). They have conceded 32, the joint-second lowest and average 2.0 goals per game.
In the cup, they have beaten Harlow Hill 1-0 to set up this tie.
Gabe Hopinkson is their leading scorer with 7 goals, but behind him is Harry Boyer and lewis Barnard, who have 6 each.
Previous Meetings.
Our database shows at least five meetings between the two sides since December 1972, when we lost 3-1. Out of these five games, we have won once, and that was in the Whitworth Cup First Round in 2008.
Squad News.
Manager Dan Marshall has challenged his team to win this competition and was boosted with the news that all players have reported fit to play. It will be a strong team that he names, but he will wait until Saturday to reveal his squad.

At this time, we haven't been told who the match official for this game is. However, we hope that whoever it is has a pleasant time at Barr Field.
