It’s cup fever for Rangers as our Reserves travel to Harrogate to play Hampsthwaite United in the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy.
The match has a 2 pm kick-off time and it should be pretty decent weather that greets the two teams, as the forecast for the moment is light cloud and a gentle breeze.
The Opposition
Hampsthwaite United sit proudly on top of the Jan Sinker Memorial Division One and can boast a 100%-win record at present!
They are certainly no slouches in the goal department and in the two games that they have played at their St John Fisher home, they have scored twenty times and conceded none! These have come courtesy of an 8-0 win over Boroughbridge Development and a 12-0 win over Thirsk Falcons.
Head To Head.
Over the years, our database throws up at least 17 fixtures between the two teams, however this will be the two respective first teams. At present Rangers lead the way with ten wins against Hampsthwaite’s five.
The two teams have also met in a pre-season friendly this campaign and it was Hampsthwaite who certainly came out on top, wining 6-1 (Joe Wilks with our consolation goal).
Team News For Rangers.
Manager Kris Macdonald will be looking for a much better result than the one mentioned above and he should be able to take over a very strong squad. The only long-term injury at present is Captain Jack Abbott.
Man In The Middle.
At present, we have no name for who will be the referee for this match.
Following The Match.
Should you wish to go and watch the team, the address that you will need is St. John Fisher, Hookstone Drive, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG2 8PT.
