Howden Clough Res v Kirk Deighton Rangers Res Match Preview.

ree

After a bad day at the office last Saturday that saw the Reserves ship six goals against a rampant East End Park Reserves side, Kris Macdonald’s men will be looking for an instant reply against Howden Clough Reserves tomorrow! However the lads need to be careful as Howden are looking for their first win of the season and will see a chance to add more misery on Deighton!

The match has a 2:30 pm kick-off time, an our usual pre-match check on the elements show that it should be a great day for football with sun and a slight breeze forecast.

Our Opponents.

Despite a couple of near misses, coupled with a duo of high scoring draws (2-2 v Brighouse and a 4-4 against Pool AFC Reserves), Howden haven’t managed to gain that first win of the season. A narrow 5-4 defeat against Tingley Reserves has been followed by two further losses at the hands of Sherburn White Rose and Altofts respectively.

During these games, Howden have found the net 13 times, which means an average of 2.6 goals scored per game. Their concede rate is almost double however with a total of 20 goals hitting the back of their net, which makes for an average of 4.0 goals conceded per match.

Head To Head.

We have met Howden a total of four times since our return to West Yorkshire League action and, at present, hold a clean sweep over them with four wins.

The last time that the two teams met at Batley Sports & Tennis Centre, a trio of braces from Danny Gore, Craig Hall and Jake Little helped us to a 6-2 win!

Team News For Rangers.

Manager Kris Macdonald will be looking to the same squad that played last weekend to go out and get back on track against Howden. There may be some movement between players as to who starts as the management look to regain that winning feeling.

Fortunately for the Reserves, there are no suspensions or new injuries to worry about.

What About Howden Clough Reserves?

Our opponents have already released their 14 man squad for tomorrow on Facebook and the one noticeable omission is Harry Tingle who, at time of writing, sits in 5th position of the highest scores for the Alliance Division Two with five goals. However no one man makes a team, and Rangers will have to be wary of several other goal threats including Connor Adamson who has two goals to his name so far.

The Man In The Middle.

As with the recent match against East End Park, our match tomorrow sees no official available to referee it. This means that both clubs will have to agree on a third party to act as the main man.

Following The Match.

Should you wish to follow the Reserves on Saturday, then the address that you will need is Batley Sports & Tennis Centre, Windmill Lane, Howden Clough, Batley, WF17 0QD.

We will be presenting our Kirk Deighton Rangers Bar Three Man Of The Match Award after the game, so please stick around and give the winner your congratulations.
