In The Spotlight: Altofts Reserves

Our Reserves resume (weather permitting) their Alliance Division Two campaign on Saturday when they welcome mid-table Altofts Reserves to Barr Field (kick-off 2:30 pm).

At present, the weather forecast is for gusty winds and cloud, but please keep watching this website and our Social Media channels for updates.

Team News.

Manager Kris Macdonald is without several players for this match as Mike Tasker, Vito D’Avanzo, Rich Jenner Mike McCartney, Sam Straker, Liam Dean, Sam Murphy and Jack Barker are all unavailable.

Mike McCartney will be missing for this match.

Altofts Form.

Since the turn of the New Year, Altofts have won two of the seven games that they have played. These two victories came in the league against Brighouse Sports Old Boys Reserves and, more recently, a 5-0 win over Pool AFC Reserves.

One interesting fact for us is that they play better at home than away, having collected just two wins from seven games on their travels.

Altofts come into this match in 7th place in the league, but a win could see them jump up a place, while a defeat will see them remain where they are, but potentially allow a few teams behind them to close the gap.

One To Watch.

The FA stats show that Reece and Rhyan Whittaker are the pair to watch as they have scored six goals each so far.

Previous Meetings.

This is the return leg of the current campaign, and we will be hoping to make it a double over them following our 4-1 win last month (Barker, Maxted, Jenner and McCartney).

Overall, this will be the sixth meeting between the two sides, with us 4-1 up on aggregate.

The Man In The Middle.

The referee for this game is Mr Richard Douglas. So far this season, he has sent one player to the sin-bin, booked 13, and sent off three.

Match Information.

The gates will be open for the public at around 1 pm, and we will be ready to serve a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks should you want one before kick-off.

If you have any spare change that you would like to donate, we will have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound from these boxes as well.

We are also accepting donations for the Wetherby and District Foodbank. Please see any of our club officials who will take your generous donation.

We hope that all traveling fans, players and officials have a pleasant time whilst at Barr Field.

Bar Three Man Of The Match.
