Old Centralians Reserves v Kirk Deighton Rangers Reserves Match Preview.

ree

Our Reserves travel over to West Park Development Centre Fields to play Old Centralians Reserves in the first round of the West Yorkshire League Trophy tomorrow.

The match has a 2 pm kick-off and weather wise, it is looking like a perfect day for football with sunny weather and temperatures of 21-22 degrees forecast.

The Opposition.

Whilst we only have league form to go on at the moment, we all know that this counts for little in cup competitions as it’s simply a case of which team turns up and performs on the day.

At present, our hosts sit in 10th place and have played twice on their own ground so far, winning and losing once. They have managed five goals on home soil, whilst conceding nine.

Head To Head.

This will be the fifth competitive meeting of the two sides (although the first in any cup competition) and so far, we lead the way with three wins, with one game ending in a 2-2 draw.

The last time the two teams met at West Park, two goals from Brad Spencer and one for Chris Plews saw us run out 3-1 winners in what was a close game.

Team News For Rangers.

Manager Kris Macdonald is taking this competition seriously and is travelling with a strong 15-man squad for this match.

With a number of players starting to return from injury and push for places again, this bodes well for the managers and also should start to see a healthy rivalry for places evolve, which means that players will be under pressure to perform consistently, if they want to keep their place!

The Man In The Middle.

This match actually sees a lady in the middle as Ms Charlotte Phillips takes control. Kirk Deighton Rangers fans will know the name as she was in charge for our derby against Wetherby Athletic last month, and this will be her second match as referee. At present, her total cards shown is two yellows.

Following The Match.

Should you wish to go and watch this game, the address that you need is West Park Development Centre Fields, North Parade, West Park, Leeds, LS16 5AY.
