It’s the final pre-season game for our reserves on Wednesday when they face York Minster Division Two side Clifford FC at Barr Field. Kick-off for this match is 7pm and it should be another hot evening!
With a strong run of games behind his side, Manager Kris Macdonald and his coaching team will be looking for a good finish as they approach their second season in the West Yorkshire Alliance 2nd Division.
However, standing in their way is a team who have a very good pedigree in local football. Having entered the York leagues a season go, Clifford won the old 4th division title at the first attempt and a realignment of the divisions saw them placed in the reconstructed 2nd division for the upcoming campaign.
Last season, Clifford picked up more points on their travels then they did at home. An impressive record of six wins, one draw and no defeats was backed up with 25 goals scored (avg. 3.6 goals per game) and 17 conceded (avg. 2.4 goals per match).
Please come down and support both Rangers and local football. A warm welcome is guaranteed for all and we hope that Clifford FC have a safe and pleasant drive over to Kirk Deighton. Our club house will be open and serving a great range of alcoholic and soft drinks, all at a great price!
