Preview: G&C Hartshead

Following a week's break, a recharged and ready to go Rangers welcome G&C Hartshead to Barr Field on Saturday for a 2:30 pm kick-off.

As this is the first match that we can host spectators (socially distancing), we look forward to seeing you all again!

The Opposition.

Always a tough team to play, Hartshead come to us off the back of a 3-0 win against Otley Town and sit in second place in the league table.

They have four wins and three draws to their name. Their only defeat came courtesy of Aberford Albion in April.

Joel Farrer is their top scorer with three goals so far, but Benjamin and Tom Smith are right behind him with two goals each.

Previous Meetings.

Technically speaking, this will be our first meeting against G&C Hartshead as they are three clubs that amalgamated to make the one we know today. We have met before, losing 4-2, but that result was void following the outbreak of COVID-19.

We have played Hartshead before. In March 2019, Will Bates and Rob Holliday scored to give us a 2-1 at Barr Field. The same players also scored in the away fixture, although this time Bates hit a brace in our 3-1 win.

The Referee.

Mr Haim Fiterman is the referee for this game, and we hope he has a pleasant time with us. This game will be his fifth in charge this mini-season, and his record appears to be limited to a single yellow card.

Team News.

With a week's rest behind his team, Manager Dan Marshall is looking at a good pool of players to choose from. In terms of selection, he is keeping his cards close to his chest, but after their good performances against East End Park Reserves, Josh Bhandal and Charlie Yates will be looking to be involved.
