It's a second trip away from home this week for Rangers as they travel up to Bunkers Hill to face Aberford Albion on Wednesday (KO 6:30 pm).
Following Saturday's 2-2 draw against Pool AFC, we aim to keep our three-match unbeaten run going, but we will have our work cut out against a team also eyeing up top spot.
The Opposition.
Aberford have started well and have racked up seven points from a possible twelve. They have already scored victories against Salts FC and G&C Hartshead with a further point against East End Park. The only team that has inflicted a defeat on Aberford is Shelley during the opening day.
According to the FA website, Dominic Noteman is their leading scorer with two goals.
Past Meetings.
Our database shows at least three meetings between the two sides. Unfortunately, the stats aren't in our favour as we haven't recorded a win against them.
The last time we officially met was on the 25th of August 2018. It was a game where an amazing ten goals were scored. Unfortunately, six of them went to Aberford! Our goalscorers were Rob Holliday (2), Luke Dubery and Sid Abbott.
The Referee.
Mr Andrew Smith is the official for this game. This match is Mr Smith's fourth game as a referee this season, and the second feature us as he was the referee for the meeting against Wyke Wanderers.
The FA website indicates that Mr Smith has shown six yellow cards but has kept his red card in his pocket.
Team News.
Due to work commitments, Manager Dan Marshall will be without several players that took part in the Pool AFC match. As such, he hasn't released any information about his potential line-up at present.
