It's time for the local derby as we welcome Wetherby Athletic to Barr Field on Wednesday night for a 6:30 pm kick-off.
Manager Dan Marshall will be hoping that his side continues to show the levels of improvement that they did against Otley Town at the weekend. It will be a game that is full of passion and commitment as neither side will want to lose this one!
The Opposition.
Wetherby Athletic sit one place behind us in the league on goal difference. They started the season with a creditable 0-0 draw against G&C Hartshead but came unstuck against leaders Rawdon Old Boys losing 6-2.
At present, they have two leading scorers, with James Flynn and Germayne Woodley having scored one each.
A win for either team could see a massive jump up the table into third place if other results also go the right way.
Past Meetings.
Since 1946, we have, according to the cub's database, met 35 times over the years. This has either been their first-team, Reserves or 'A' team. At the moment, we have 17 victories compared to Wetherby's 12. It must be noted that the database isn't fully complete, so there may be more results out there!
The last time we officially met was on the 9th March 2019, when both teams shared six goals. Ours came from Charlie Yates, Adam Carter and Will Bates.
The Referee.
The man in black for this match is Mr Michael Stoddart, and we hope that he has a pleasant time with us at Barr Field. Mr Stoddart has already refereed three other games since football returned, and according to the FA website, he hasn't issued any cards.
Team News.
Dan Marshall and his coaching team will be hoping to have several players available for this game who couldn't make the Otley one. Josh Bhandal remains suspended, but there are no other worries on this front.
