Preview: Tingley Athletic Reserves

Our Reserves will be looking for an instant winning reply to the 4-0 defeat they suffered on Monday against Rothwell Reserves. However, they have picked a difficult team to play as they take on league leaders Tingley Athletic Reserves at Casson Avenue (KO 2:30 pm).

The opponents.

With our defeat to Rothwell tying in with their 4-3 victory against Wyke Wanderers, the two teams swapped places in the league table, and now we find ourselves trailing Tingley by a single point.

Our hosts have only dropped two points from a possible fifteen, and this came during a 4-4 goal feast against Wetherby Athletic Reserves. Their leading goalscorer appears to be Benjamin Baines, with an impressive nine goals.

Past Meetings.

This game appears to be our first official meeting, but we did clash on the 23rd November 2019, when goals from Luke Trower (2), Richard Jenner and Phil Turner saw us run out 4-2 winners. Unfortunately, this match became void as Covid-19 struck.

The Referee.

Mr Ethan Nundy is the referee for this match. This fixture is his first game in charge since football restarted at the beginning of this month.

Team News.

According to the FA Website, Tingley will be without the services of Jermaine Jackson and Alexander Jackson, who are both suspended.

Manager Kris Macdonald continues to weigh up several options since the second-half capitulation against Rothwell, and as such, hasn't released any team news at the time of this preview.
