Rangers Res v Sherburn White Rose Reserves Match Preview.

ree

Our Reserves are quickly back in action following their 6-0 demolition of Brighouse Sports Old Boys Development side on Saturday. This time, they welcome Sherburn White Rose Reserves to Barr Field tonight for a 6:30 pm kick-off.

A look at the weather app shows that it should be another decent day for football with sunny intervals and a slight breeze!

The Opposition.

Sherburn have had a storming start to this campaign, with a 6-2 win against Rothwell Reserves followed up by a 10-0 mauling of Old Centralians Reserves!

These two victories have put propelled them into second place in the Alliance Division Two table, but finishing positions over the last few seasons seems to indicate that they won’t be able to hold onto this lofty height, as they have usually ended up in one of the lower positions come the final game, however with such a great start, this could just be their year!

Head To Head.

Since our Reserves were accepted into the West Yorkshire setup, we have played each other four times. At present, we lead the way with three wins to one and hopefully we will be able to increase that come 8:30 pm tonight.

The last time we met at Barr Field was on the 8th December 2018. Goals from Chris Plews and Mike Tasker helped us to a 2-1 win.

Team News For Rangers.

Manager Kris Macdonald will be hoping to field roughly the same team that did so well against Brighouse, although with several knocks picked up, this may well require a shuffle in personnel should several players not be able to play.

What About The Opposition?

One player that won’t be able to turn out for Sherburn is Tom Johnson as he is serving a three-match suspension. Apart from that, it is widely expected that Sherburn will field most of the side that ran riot against Old Centralians Reserves. This means that Rangers will have to keep an eye on hat-trick hero Mohamed Hoque!

The Man In The Middle.

Mr John Meadows is in charge tonight. This is Mr Meadows first game of the season and we wish him a pleasant time whilst at Barr Field.

Following The Game.

Unfortunately, due to work commitments, there will be no social media or photographs from this game.

The gates will be open at around 5.30 pm and all fans from both teams are guaranteed a warm welcome. Our clubhouse will be pulling pints and serving a wide range of beverages (both alcoholic and soft) so everyone can enjoy a drink, Pre, at half-time and after the referee has brought things to a close!

We will also have a matchday special drinks offer on, so please see the noticeboard near the bar for more details.

Also, if you have any spare pennies and would like to donate them to a great cause, we will also have our prostate Cancer UK collection boxes around the clubhouse. You can also buy one of their great Men United Pin Badges for a pound (or two!) from these boxes as well.

We will also be presenting our Kirk Deighton Rangers Bar Three Man Of The Match award after the game, so please stick around for that as well.
