Two days after beating Hunslet Club Reserves 4-2, our Second Team face another test of their character when they play Boroughbridge AFC Reserves at the Sports Pavilion tonight.
The kick-off is 6:15 pm, and the MET forecast the weather to be cloudy with temperatures around 12-13 degrees centigrade.
The Opposition.
Boroughbridge have recently surrendered their position at the top of the table to Field AFC Reserves, but with three games in hand, and only a point between the teams, it would take a brave man not to back them to reclaim the top spot.
They come into this match having won their previous three games. They have 38 points from a possible 45 and have won 12 games, drawn two and lost only once.
Goals wise, they are the division's top scorers with 79 (averaging 5.3 goals per game) and have conceded 25 (averaging 1.7 goals per game).
Jake Fletcher is their leading scorer with a very impressive 26 goals. Behind him are Jordan Atkinson and Joe Dorkings, with 14 each.
Past Meetings.
This game is the return fixture to the season opener when we were beaten 4-0 at Barr Field.
Our database shows another three meetings between the two sides, but we are still to gain a victory over them. However, we did share two draws during the 2017-2018 season.
Squad News.
Manager Kris Macdonald will look to play as many as the team that beat Hunslet Club Reserves. However, with several having work commitments, this could prove tricky. Max Bladen may be fit enough to feature.
Match Official.
Mr Luke Hood is the referee for this match. This game will be his 11th in charge this season.
