Our Reserves take to the road for their first away match of the new season on Saturday as they face Howden Clough at Batley Sports & Tennis Centre.

Kick-off is 2:30 pm, and the weather should be good with a mixture of sun and cloud according to the MET weather app.

Spectators are allowed, but as ever, please follow any Covid-19 guidelines that Howden Clough FC have provided.

Our hosts come into this match off the back of a creditable 2-2 draw against Pool AFC Reserves. Previous to that, they suffered a 3-0 defeat against Altofts Reserves in the opening fixture of the campaign.

When football finished last season, they occupied 11th place in the Alliance Division 2 but could have moved a couple of places upwards had they won their games in hand.

Last time we officially met Howden at their place was on the 30th March 2019, and it ended in a 6-2 win for us (goals came from Danny Gore (2), Craig Hall (2) and Jake Little (2).

One To Watch.

So far, our opponents have had two players, Josh Scholes and Sean Thornhill-Adey, who have found the back of the net.

Manager Kris Macdonald will be missing several regulars for this game including captain and opening day hat-trick hero Mike McCartney, and it will be a changed team that takes to the pitch than the one that beat Overthorpe Sports Club 6-0.

The Referee.

Mr Michael Stoddart is in charge of this game. This is his second match having been the man in the middle during Brighouse Sports 9-3 win over Wetherby Athletic Reserves last weekend.
